Entry Way Updates

The New Year is kinda the perfect time to make changes around the home. You’re already in the mood for change so it comes relatively naturally. The little updates to the furnishings in our entry is heralding in some more changes to come, more on that later. But I don’t think I could be any more excited about the new Shiloh Woven Sideboard from Winnoby.

I hugged it when it came. Pretty wood graining, gorgeous open weave door fronts, lots of drawer space–it checks every box. And clearly others feel the same way since it was backordered. Worth the wait? You betcha, get in line and snag it up.

Now I love Winnoby. Not only are the furnishings beautiful, decor unique but shipping is included in the cost of every item, so there are no surprises when you go to purchase. Here’s what I’m currently loving on Winnoby in addition to this awesome sideboard.

Now what is hopefully in the works in the coming months is a widening of the doorway from the entry to the dining room and some gorgeous millwork on the walls and ceiling. Right now it’s a single width door opening into the dining room, you can actually see the old hinges from where the door use to be. That’s the quirky thing about these old homes, they had tiny doorways and doors on every room, probably for heating and cooling back in the day.

Widening doorways is a great alternative to make spaces flow better especially ours since I can’t do anything about the actual width of the entry. I can add details, like millwork that make it feel more unique and welcoming and that’s up my sleeve–some beautiful, unique millwork details. Right now though I’m reveling in the freshness of this space with the new sideboard captured beautifully by my friend, Ruth Eileen Photography. It was an absolute honor partnering with Winnoby to pull this off. Go snag one up!
