A little too much birthday fun @target this week. A little too much birthday fun @target this week. So how about a little spring outfit try on!? I think the stripe dress is my favorite. Comment SPRING and I’ll send you all the links I could find but know that I’m not as tech savvy as the youthful out there and have zero idea how links magically show up in your messages automatically…#springoutfit #classicstyle #targetstyle #target #momfashion
Family Room Wooden Ceiling Update One of the more Family Room Wooden Ceiling UpdateOne of the more stressful design decisions I’ve made that I don’t regret. But I was terrified to actually start. Inspired by our travels abroad, it took me 2 years to mull it over, then months to get the stain right. And then more months to have vintage beams from a 1879 Lexington barn (same year as our home) milled down into planks to be used for the panels. @jdmillworks did an absolutely spectacular job and they haven’t fired me yet for these design ideas of mine. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Jim locks the door the next time he sees me coming. Don’t forget your ceilings. It can change everything! #familyroom #historichome #millwork #carpentry #designdetail
41 years old today. And incredibly grateful for th 41 years old today. And incredibly grateful for the lovely mess that is this life. 41 years of making mistakes, loving wildly, being loved, traveling, baking, having babies, remodeling old homes, growing in faith, traveling some more, learning to be ok with the imperfections, disappointments and constant change. Gratitude for this lovely life has filled me up today. Thank you Lord for another glorious year! Even in the hard the lovely has been there. ..#birthday #thankfulheart #gratitude #motherhood ..
A little bathroom update we started last June. Don A little bathroom update we started last June. Don’t let HGTV fool you, houses take time. We had large crack in our shower floor tile and concern for water damage, so I took the opportunity to add a little drama—new tile AND a pretty marble bench. I love the new paint colors (walls and ceiling SW Creamy and trim SW Soft Sage) but the curtains are my favorite part. #bathroomreno #bathroomdesign #newenglandliving #renovations
Let’s make something lovely shall we? Because wh Let’s make something lovely shall we? Because when there’s SO much snow outside we need all the blooming lovely we can find. These “faux but also real” blooming branches are made using the blooms from a faux white cherry stem hot glued onto real branches from my yard. It takes some time and several hot glue sticks but I couldn’t love it anymore. And the finished product makes me love my new blue kitchen ceiling even more!..THE DETAILS I bought 4 stems of white cherry blossoms from @russellsgardencenter I snipped the individual blooms off 2 stems. I then pulled the clusters of 3 off of the last 2. Hot glue the blossoms to real branches and for a more natural look, mimic the way the blossoms open, with closed buds at the tip and more open flowers beneath. Just keep gluing! Arrange in a pretty vase for some kitchen counter wow factor. (This pretty green vase is one of my oldest house purchases. We carried it in our backpack home from Thailand when we backpacked around the world for our honeymoon. I was 23 and we didn’t have a house just the hope of one. Collect the treasures no matter what season of life you are in.)..#diyhomedecor #bhgstylemaker #makesomething #bloomingbranches #flowerstagram
