Ginger Apple Spritzer

Now it’s a teensy bit difficult to be entertaining with a port-a-potty out our living room window and excavator in the backyard but when we’re not in the middle of a remodel, this refreshing apple drink would be the perfect addition to Thanksgiving or any fall gathering. We’ll be back in the “have people over” swing again some day! But all you sweet friends, this is a perfect treat. With apple cider plentifully available right now, this non-alcoholic spritzer has just the right amount of zing with the addition of real ginger ale. Muddle some fresh sage, add a cinnamon stick and you’ve got yourself a crowd pleaser.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 qt fresh pressed apple cider
  • 1 bottle real ginger ale (we used Reeds Ginger Brew)
  • bunch of fresh sage
  • 8 cinnamon sticks
  • fresh ice cubes
  • 1/4 C sugar with 1/2 tsp cinnamon mixed in to make cinnamon sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

In a pitcher, muddle fresh sage until lightly bruised. Add fresh pressed apple cider and several cinnamon sticks. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a dish. Dip just the lip of your glasses in water and swirl in cinnamon/sugar mixture, coating the rim.

Add fresh ginger ale to apple cider mixture and pour into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and sage leaves.

These gorgeous pictures were taken by Ruth Eileen Photography. If you are in the New England area she is a jewel and takes the most amazing pictures.
