The Sweetest Mother’s Day Floral Arrangement

I’m in the camp that suggest mothers should get a special crown or something. Motherhood, the beauty of it and the tears all mingle together and you’re got one of the most powerful and meaningful jobs in the whole wide world. Mommas are life changers, medics, kitchen queens, working wonders that just don’t quite get the credit they deserve, unless of course it’s Mother’s Day and then the world stops and takes notice, briefly.

Now that I’m a momma to three (what!?) I feel like I should fly my mom to a relaxing island just to say thank you for all the grief she got over the years from my brothers and I. The ultimate payback is becoming a mom yourself, when you realize that these little terrors are capable of completely destroying a room in .8 seconds and then can turn around and melt your heart by the tiniest snuggle and kiss.

So really there aren’t enough flowers in the whole wide world to say thank you to the moms in our lives. But this sweet little arrangement would make a pretty lovely gift, maybe combine it with an 8 carat ring? Haha!  A sweet tea cup brimming with flowers, pretty ribbon and tea bag are a sweet gesture to show the moms in our life how much we love them.

Mother's Day Arrangement

I liked the cream color of a stack of envelopes I had on hand so I used those and a paint brush with watered down acrylic paint to write the tag. Clearly watercolors would work well I just couldn’t find mine, haha. So we improvised and it worked well.

It didn’t take very many flowers to fill the sweet little tea cup but it made a darling arrangement. You could use a vintage tea cup or find a lovely one at Home Goods.

I tend to gravitate toward the “frilly” flowers–ranunculus, roses, parrot tulips but the ones available at most stores, tulips and roses with some eucalyptus would be gorgeous. I just love these spring time flowers. And because I couldn’t find eucalyptus at my store (and couldn’t stop at another with all three kiddos in tow), I added some pussy willow for height.

I cut a tiny slit in the tea bag and the tag so I could slip the pretty ribbon through and then tie around the handle.

A thoughtful gift for the momma’s in our life and easy to make.

Now pop on over and see the beautiful arrangement ideas from my sweet blogging friends.

How pretty is Leslie, My 100 Year Old Home’s Mother’s Day arrangement? I just love tulips especially those pretty blush colored ones.

Ashley from Modern Glam’s arrangement all with grocery store finds could not be any prettier.

Janine, Happy Happy Nester’s is a flower goddess. Don’t you just love that Mother’s Day arrangement in the silver urn!?

  2. Oh, this is so pretty! Love the tender colors of the flowers and the idea of using a vintage bowl or something similar for them. The teacup you used is gorgeous and I’m sure every mom would appreciate the love and heart that go into this gift.
