Fingerprint Ghost Pumpkins

Boo! These fingerprint ghost pumpkins make the perfect Halloween craft for the kiddos and a darling keepsake for mom. Plus how cute are they as a Halloween decoration! Using white acrylic craft paint and your kiddo’s thumb, you can stamp their little finger prints all over the paper mache pumpkins and turn them into ghosts. A few dabs of black paint make the eyes and mouth. My older boys loved this craft and Aubrey, well she just wanted to make a mess but we were still able to capture her adorable teeny ghost prints.

I made sure to write their names and ages on the bottom of the pumpkins so I can remember their fingers being this tiny when I pull them out every Halloween from now on out.

GATHER THE SUPPLIES

Start by gathering your Paper Mache Pumpkins. I got mine at Hobby Lobby and Target. Here’s a similar one to the Hobby Lobby ones. All you need is white and black acrylic paint and a small paint brush for making the ghost’s eyes.

DIP THOSE FINGERS & DAB THOSE EYES

I had Cade dip his thumb finger and then stamp his fingers around his pumpkin. You can do as many or as few as you’d like. This is kinda a “let them go” craft if they’re a bit older. Aubrey needed to be reigned in or the whole pumpkin would have been white smears. Haha.

Once he had stamped his white thumb all over the pumpkin we added the ghost’s eyes. No need to let the “ghosts” dry if they aren’t too thick. He did the majority of the black eyes and mouth himself and was so proud of his pumpkin. For the little ones you can do this for them as it takes more fine motor control.

Voila! Adorable fingerprint ghost pumpkins. This is a sweet little craft to capture your littles in this season. Easy and lovely, you’ll want to display this one proudly. Captured beautifully by Ruth Eileen Photography.
